Ingredients
  1. Bread – 5 slices
  2. Milk – 500ml
  3. Sugar -7 to 8 tbsp/ as required
  4. Ghee – 7 to 8 tbsp
  5. Cashew nuts – 10 nos / as required
  6. Raisans – 10 nos / as required
  7. Cardamom - 3 nos.

Bread halwa is a simple magical recipe which tastes great. I have never tasted this halwa before so I was very hesitant to try this recipe at beginning. After trying it I am fully satisfied .my husband is not a sweet lover even he liked and surprised that is recipe made with bread. I sure all will love this recipe. Just give a try!!!!!!

 

Preparation:

  1. Remove the edges of bread slices and cut them into small pieces.

Heat a pan with 6 tbsp of ghee and fry cashew nuts until it turns golden brown, then add raisans in and fry for few secs . keep it aside.

3. Now add the bread pieces and roast it in same pan in low/ medium flame. Keep turning the bread pieces every now and then till it turns golden brown.

4. Next boil milk with sugar & cardamom powder and add it in roasted bread.

let it get boiled in low flame. Then mash it with a ladle.

 5. Add 2 tbsp of  ghee little by little and keep mixing till it gets thicken. Cook until it starts to leave the sides and oozes out oil.

6. Atlast add fried cashew nuts & raisans and mix well. Tasty bread halwa is ready to be served.

Notes.

  •  I used milk bread here.
  • You can refrigerate and have for two days. While serving just heat it.
  • Do not reduce the ghee quantity, then you will not get correct halwa consistency.
